In order to obtain a library card you must complete an application and show proof of residency. Should you lose your card there is a $2 fee for replacement. Additional Information
Login to Nassau Reads Click on the Search Catalog button located on the left side of the Library Page window. Search for the item you wish to reserve. In the box on the left, click on the Place Hold button. The title you selected will appear above a box for User ID. Enter your complete library card number in the Library Card Number Box, next choose which library location you wish to pick up your material. When all information is correct click on the Place Hold button You will receive a telephone call when your item is ready for pick up. (Please make sure we have your current phone number on file)
Login to Nassau Reads. Click on the My Account tab located on the top right side of the Library Page window. Click on Renew my materials. Enter your library card number in the User ID Box and press Enter. If you have a Pin number, enter it in the Pin Box and press Enter. At the top of the list of items select Renew All or Select Certain Titles by clicking the box beside the titles you wish to renew. As you click the boxes check marks will appear. At the bottom of the page, click on Renew Selected Items. Items that have previously been renewed three times will not renew and items that have holds placed on them by other patrons will not renew. To avoid a fine, these items must be returned.
Your User ID is your Library Card Number. The number is located on the back of your Library Card. When using it on the Library’s Website, it is entered without spaces.
Your Pin Number is a 4 digit number you choose. This Number is part of your Library Account and must be entered into the system by Library Staff. You may contact any Library in the Nassau County Library System to request this number be entered in your Account.
Login to Nassau Reads Click on Search the Catalog Click on I Need Material Click on Interlibrary Loan Click in the box for Author and enter the author’s name Next Click in the box for Title and enter the book’s title Scroll down the screen where you will see User ID Your User ID is your Library Card Number without spaces. Enter it here. Click on Send Your request has been submitted. Please allow two to four weeks.
